Omega NC900HDC

  • Multifunctional

Things we disliked

  • Price point
  • Lots of parts
  • Big and heavy

This Omega NC900HDC is a popular juicer and perfect for veggies like beets and carrots. This juicer will help you get the most juice out of some of the hardest produce. Root veggies and leafy greens are no problem. There is a setting to help adjust for different hardnesses of fruits and veggies. This juicer doesn’t perform as well with soft fruit.

Omega NC900HDC

Omega has a whole line of horizontal masticating juicers that are very similar, and any one of them would be an excellent choice for juicing beets. This NC900HDC model is one of the higher-end models with some extras. It has a wider feed chute and has a larger screen area than earlier Omega models.

KOIOS Slow Masticating Juicer

Things we liked

  • Good price point
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Quiet
  • BPA Free

Things we disliked

  • May wobbles during heavy juicing

The KOIOS Slow is the best value here. It is a horizontal masticating juicer like the Omega above but lacks much of the power and the multifunctions. It is however a third of the price.  The key to successfully juicing beets and other hard stuff in this juicer is to cut them into smaller than needed pieces and add them slowly to the feed chute while alternating with different produce.

KOIOS Slow Masticating Juicer

It is easy enough to clean the parts. The challenge is that it can be difficult to take apart after juicing. For the cost, this is still a pretty good little juicer. Just be aware that the juice yield and ease of use won’t be quite what an Omega would be. The KOIOS Slow Juicer is a great way to get started cold-press juicing with minimal investment.

Breville 800JEXL

Things we liked

  • Fast
  • Mostly stainless-steel
  • 3” wide feeding chute

Things we disliked

Some products, like most beets, you can actually feed into the Breville 800JEXL whole!

Breville 800JEXL

This juicer was featured in the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, and Dr. Oz has recommended it as his go-to juicer. Popularity and celebrity aside, this is a high-quality juicer. It will give you fresh juice in just a fraction of the time as masticating juicers. What you won’t get is the live enzymes and other benefits of cold-press.

The Breville 800JEXL is the choice for someone that values ease and speed and doesn’t have their heart set on a masticating model.

Kuvings C7000S

Things we liked

  • Pulp adjustment setting
  • Suitable for a wide range of produce
  • Wide chute

Things we disliked

  • Lots of parts

The Kuvings C7000S is a vertical masticating juicer. It has a powerful motor that turns a wide juicing auger slow but with lots of force to crush your beets and anything else you want to juice at an even slower speed than horizontal juicers. It juices a wide range of textures better horizontal juicers. It can make almond milk, purees, and sorbet but can’t grind as the Omega can.

One of the highlights of many of the Kuvings juicers is the large feeding chute. It is a very generous size of 3 inches. This model comes with a hopper, a pulp strainer, and few extras not included with other Kuvings slow juicers.

The Kuvings C700S is the choice for someone looking for a masticating juicer and wants to juice a wide range of fruit and vegetables.

Hurom HP

Things we liked

  • Compact size
  • Extra slow; 43 RPMs
  • Cool color choices: white, pink, mint green

Things we disliked

  • Small chute
  • Heavy
  • Fewer functions
Check Amazon

Hurom HP is part of Hurom’s personal series. The body is more compact than other Huroms or other brands of similar juicers. The Hurom HP juices beets and greens no problem but also handles a wide variety, even softer produce with ease. It can make almond milk but lacks most of the functions of many masticating juicers.

The Hurom HP is not only the smallest juicer featured here, it is also the slowest. If you really want to get the full nutritional advantage of slow juicing, then this Hurom will deliver. Spinning at just 43 revolutions per minute (RPM), this juicer will make extra smooth juice with the least heat exposure.

The Hurom HP is the masticating juicer for smaller spaces. It might also be the pick for someone that wants to embrace the slowest side of cold-press juicing.

There are plenty of juicers that can handle beets. Finding the right one for your household will come down to the details. The best all-around juicer is the Omega NC900HDC. But if you are looking for something faster and easier, the Breville 800JEXL is the way to go.
